Baripada or the land of Rains is a sleepy little town in Orissa, on the confluence of river Budhabalanga, Jarali and Sarali.Surrounded by the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal it is the birth place of noted painters, writers, musicians, playwrights, actors , scientists and bureaucrats. It is here where I spent my childhood and grew up to manhood in the midst of lilting tribal music and a rich cultural bonding epitomising the simple tribal life depicting honesty and integrity.

Rethink Prof Amartya Sen tells Arvind pangariya
Well the article by Arvind pangariya in the economic times is worth pondering. While Sen and his celebrated senconomics takes a dig at the comparative anlysis of growth in India to that of China, Arvind assesses the far reaching implications of India's claim on UN security council as well as international borders and water treaty apart from the trickling effect of growth engines on the abysmally poorer sections in India. Arvind as a fellow economist from Colombia university could have done greater justice to his logic by focussing on the reas of growth in India visa a vis China and how a comparative analysis could help India.
