Devdutt patnaik in his blog writes about the importance of Spiritual LSD in our lives. LSD which under ordinary circumstances would mean an ecstasic drug, here is referred to Lakshmi(goddess of Wealth),Saraswati(Goddess of knowledge & sanity) and Durga (goddess of power for our emotional and psychological fortifications)
Taking a cue from Dev’s LSD, I feel we cannot do without any one of them and even if, we try to experiment , the consequences are disastrous. Say in case of Satyam, Raju wanted to do away with Saraswati and only invite Lakshmi to stay with her. He also wanted to fortify his own domain of "mine only" with Durga which never happened. Durga creates a durg or fortifies our emotional and personal bond,provided we shun the "mine only" syndrome and look forward to "me too" syndrome in sharing. Analogy can also be drawn with the learned bureacrats found involved in the recent 2G scam.The recent scam in ISRO points out a more interesting phenomenon, people bestowed with the blessings of Goddess Saraswati and fortified by Goddess Durga, had to get into murky activities for enslaving Goddess Lakshmi. They forgot the basic principle of Vandana or Aradhana, through which one can please the Allmighty and receive their blessing and not through Parakram or strength.
ultimately it boils down to selection of the good or evil,the choice we make in our everyday life.the law of physics also supports the theory,ultimately there is equilibrium,the excesses will be shed and normalcy will return.super normal profit or super charged state can only be made in short span.
