Baripada or the land of Rains is a sleepy little town in Orissa, on the confluence of river Budhabalanga, Jarali and Sarali.Surrounded by the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal it is the birth place of noted painters, writers, musicians,playwrights, actors , scientists and bureaucrats. It is here where I spent my childhood and grew up to manhood in the midst of lilting tribal music and a rich cultural bonding epitomising the simple tribal life depicting honesty and integrity.

Volcanic eruptions in Iceland
The recent spate of fury by the Icelandic volcano is a stark reminder from mother nature to the inhabitants of this planet to consume only what they need and not to satisfy their greed by plundering the scarce resources of the earth.
