Dreams

Dreams

Distortions, in the wake of disaster
An abstract alley full of darkness
Naked humans, underfed children
Dark gouged eyes, just short of carcass.

Food a distant dream, never fructified
Endurance of pain through ravages of time
Rain and winter both rips them apart
Comforts sought, life cheaper than a dime.

A few rags everyday keeps the hearth burning
Couple of mouths lies parched and dry
Here we talk of filth and dirt
They, forget all and give it a try.

Effluent and pollution gets priority
Plans afoot, to banish them all
We talk of greener and cleaner future
And there live take its toll.

Our sons and daughters rise and run
Fixed goals and bright ambition
They stand and stare without a tomorrow
Picking rags from our houses and mansion

Dreams they see and stare at future
But, few can afford to remember
Today is a challenge and so be it
Yesterday offers nothing to ponder.
