Swimming-Life's lesson

Swimming

Afraid as a kid, yet so natural,
of the depth and coldness,unfathomable
Clinging to my finger as the last hope, still
she lurked to look beyond.
I closed my eyes, she was waving for help
the earnest cries for help, fell deaf on me
gasping and panting,must have cursed
yet, I did not lend a hand.
Desperate and numb, she cleared the ripples
threw her hands and legs around
the rythm and motions started slowly, and
she knew she was afloat.
A glance at me and she knew,
the trick had made her swim,
no more waves or depth could hold her back
and life’s greatest lesson had been taught.
